After completing four semesters focusing on biology (pre-health) at the University of North Dakota, I had decided that a career in medicine was not for me. I changed gears and began online courses focused on completing my general education credits, and then in 2011, I began my journey of becoming an architect at North Dakota State University. I have always had a passion for drawing and sketching and later grew a passion for design through classes in drafting, art, and graphic design, which is why I decided to pursue architecture. While studying at NDSU, my passion for design has grown immensely, as has the way I view and approach design. Whichever type of project I may be working on, sustainable design practices always play a key role in my designs. I just recently became a LEED Green Associate and being able to practice what I have learned on my projects has really helped me understand the impacts sustainable design practices can have on people and on the environment we live in.
